Ok, so I never blog, I know, I'm lame!

Carson's super cute Bum Genius cloth diaper and leg warmers :)

Matching hair with Daddy.

Saying bye-bye to Grandpa.

Playing in his walker.

The monkey outfit I made for Carson.

It seems that between school and taking care of Carson and attempting (although ever unsuccessfully) to keep my apartment clean, I just don't ever have the time. So here is an update, which is grossly overdue, I know.

Carson is growing fast! He is so smart and really advanced for his age. He is sitting up unassisted for at least a minute, and has been for a few weeks now (since just over 4 months) which something that normally doesn't happen until 6-7 months. He loves to drink from my cup whenever I have one has gotten pretty good at actually taking sips of water instead of just teething on my cup. We also introduced the sippy cup to him a couple of days ago and he is slowly figuring it out, although right now it seems like more of a toy than anything else. His other favorite toy right now is wipes packages, he just LOVES to play with the pack of wipes from his diaper bag! He is deep in the throes of teething and is drooling and biting things constantly trying to cut a couple of teeth.

We are switching from disposable diapers to cloth. It is going to save us tons of money, and they are much cuter :) Now before you go and think that I am crazy and they are so difficult, let me explain that these are NOT the clot diapers from days past. There is no folding, no pins, no extra step of putting a diaper cover or plastic pants over the top (although those do still exist) We are using all in one and all in two diapers. They go on in one piece, just like a disposable diaper does, ad have either snap or velcro closures. I am also venturing into the cloth diaper making world. There are tons of them selling on ebay and esty, the average sale price of the type I am making that are also home made, not factory produced, is about $12 per diaper. They only cost about $4-8 to make (depending on pattern, fabric type, etc) so I will be making a pretty decent profit. I have so far drafted the pattern and will start making them just as soon as my fabric and snap press come in the mail. I'm really excited about it. They are one size adjustables, meaning that depending on where you snap the rise, they fit most babies from 5-35 pounds, so basically most babies from birth to potty training.

In other exciting news, I am the recipient of a $6000 scholarship for next year for outstanding academic and leadership skills! I got the letter from the mailbox today and jumped up and down I was so excited. Of all of the scholarships in my department (The college of health and human services) I got highest amount offered through any of the college of HHS scholarships so that was really exciting.

Thats about all that is new here right now. Bryan and I are just going to school and wishing we were done already. We go in in about a month from now for Carson's next checkup to see just how much bigger he has gotten, I can't wait.

  2. Thanks Cami! And I'm sure you're handling everything amazingly, you always do!

I have reintroduced soy, and he seems to be tolerating that great so far so we think that we have ruled out him having both a dairy and soy allergy. We are waiting a little bit longer to reintroduce dairy, we tried once about a month ago and he was so miserable that I want to wait a little longer. I think around 9 months or so I will start eating things again that have dairy as like one of the last ingredients, so still no glass of milk or cheese, and see how he does before going totally dairy again. Lol so basically all that to say that I have no idea if it is any better as of yet. Oh, but I think probably not because the other day Bryan had cereal (with milk of course) and then he was playing with Carson and blowing on his cheek and he ended up getting a rash from the milk.
